Anxiety links to emotions and physical sensations you may experience when nervous or worried. You could feel uneasy, fearful and worry more. These feelings of unease can be mild or severe. Anxiety is caused by two different parts of the brain. We have our amygdala our primitive part which can creates anxiety. I call this part of my brain my inner chimp (Jo Jo), she wants to keep me safe from danger at all times. She says lost of things that start with what if?.... Our amygdala keeps us alert and aware of danger. There is also the prefrontal cortex type of anxiety. This is where you may worry whether you locked the front door or left the hob on. Anxiety can be a generalised response by the primitive brain to long periods of stress and solution focused hypnotherapy can help in reducing this.
